TV reporter headlines at Hodgson’s Presentation Evening ceremony

TELEVISION journalist Jennifer Rigby is pictured being welcomed by Hodgson’s Head Boy and Girl at Presentation Evening. Channel 4 News journalist Miss Rigby officially presented GCSE certificates and other awards to our former Year 11 students, who left Hodgson in the summer, at the ceremony on Thursday 20th November.

Miss Rigby, who was a Hodgson student herself from 1995 to 2000, is currently the acting digital editor of Channel 4 News, one of the UK’s biggest TV news shows. She will begin work next month at The Telegraph newspaper.

Miss Rigby told Hodgson’s Class of 2014 during her Presentation Evening speech: “You are beginning to be the boss of your own life. You are making choices now which will shape your future. That’s tremendously exciting.

You’ve also proved to yourself that you can work hard with your GCSEs. Well done on that – it’s a massive achievement and you should be proud of yourselves.”
