HODGSON Academy has come out on top in secondary school league tables published for GCSE results – for the second year in a row. A total of 76 per cent of last year’s student cohort graduated with five or more GCSEs at A* to C including English and maths, the so-called ‘gold standard’. This puts the school at the top of the board for the Fylde coast’s state schools and academies.
Principal Toni Roethling said: “We are delighted with our position in the national league tables. It confirms Hodgson as a high performing school on the Fylde Coast.
“Our thanks go to our hardworking students, talented staff and supportive parents.”
In 2014’s GCSE results, 83 per cent of students achieved an A-C grade in English and 81 per cent in maths.
