Shining examples in art competition

THIS trio produced artwork that eclipsed others in a school competition. Students in Years 7 and 8 were tasked for art homework with producing a solar eclipse picture. The Science Department judged the entries and the winners, who all get a voucher, are:

1st: Dylan Hopwood, Form 7A
2nd: Christian Moss, Form 7D
3rd: Max Lewis, Form 7S

Science teacher Mrs Garside said: “We had some amazing entries. There are also some students who will receive a Principal’s Commendation for their outstanding work.”

The art project was set in the wake of the partial solar eclipse, which could be seen in parts of the UK and northern Europe, on Friday 20th March. The sun appeared briefly like a crescent instead of a disc as the moon passed in front, putting much of the UK into morning twilight.
