Hodgson shares success story in national publication

Parliamentary-Review-Article-2HODGSON Academy features in a highly-acclaimed publication that showcases outstanding schools across the country. Hodgson is one of eleven schools to appear in the secondary education edition of The Parliamentary Review 2014/15. The schools were selected to highlight best practice to their peers in the education sector.

A three-page-spread details how Hodgson has been the top-performing state school on the Fylde over the past several years. It also outlines how since gaining Teaching School status in 2011, Hodgson has worked with more than 50 schools nationally.

Hodgson’s Principal Toni Roethling discusses in the article how she feels a lot of Hodgson’s success is down to staff empowering the students themselves.

She said: “Expectations are set high at Hodgson for every student.

“We encourage students to develop fully a growth mind-set where they believe intelligence is never fixed but can be enhanced through hard work and nurtured through challenge. It is once this mind-set has been established that students will achieve their personal goals.”

The Parliamentary Review has been sent out to tens of thousands of leading policymakers including all MPs, Peers at the House of Lords and leaders from across the education arena. It looks back at a year in education and Westminster, with an introduction from The Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt Hon George Osborne MP.
