A GROUP of Year 8 students impressed judges in a contest to find the best public safety radio advert.
The fab five (Sammy Stagg, Kushi Krishna, Charlie Wood, Amber Anderson and Freya Deville), led by Lead Teacher of Geography Miss Parr, were delighted to reach the finals of the United Utilities Radio Commercial Competition 2016 after topping a public poll.
The team’s advert, which warns about the dangers of swimming in reservoirs, was competing alongside adverts created by three other North West schools. Each school had to promote and pitch its advert to a team of United Utilities judges on 15th March.
The overall winning commercial – which was by Calveley Primary in Cheshire – is to be professionally produced by UTV Media to be broadcast to thousands of listeners.
A United Utilities spokesperson said about Hodgson’s presentation: “The team were overwhelmed with the fantastic pitch presentation your students delivered. Their enthusiasm and creativity was evident and the judges were thoroughly impressed.”
