Badminton, Climbing, Dance and Netball reports

Hodgson Academy continue to dominate the badminton both locally and in the county.

The girls U16 squad and the boys U14 squad have both reached the finals of the Lancashire Cup, which is an outstanding result.

Badminton leagues have been organised by Mr Egan for girls and boys of all ages and hosted at Hodgson Academy.

As part of the PE GCSE course 21 students recently attended a weekend course at Outdoor Adventure to take part in climbing activities, achieving high grades, which was a reflection on how well the students conducted themselves.

Thanks must go to Miss Sanderson, for her excellent organisation, and Mr McCann for giving up their time to run the trip.

Hodgson Dance Academy recently took part in the first ever dance competition hosted by the Wyre and Fylde School Sports Partnership.

We came a very commendable second place overall with a dance inspired by the book and play of ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time’.

A great performance by all the girl’s and Dalton Patterson who showed commitment and talent by attending 6 weeks of rehearsals leading up to this event. Many thanks must go to Miss Laura Wade for choreographing the dance and all your hard work. Well done everyone!

Congratulations must go to the Year 9 netball squad for winning their respective league back in January.

The team is well motivated and enthusiastic, with most of the squad now playing for Wyre Netball Club U14’s.
