Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day
On Friday 15th December 2017, Hodgson students and staff took part in Save the Children’s National Christmas Jumper Day to help raise money to support the various projects the charity delivers and to give children around the world a brighter future. In exchange for a minimum donation of £1, students and staff were able to wear a Christmas themed jumper in addition to their normal uniform.
The total amount raised on the day was a fantastic £889.80 and this will go towards the charity work Save the Children does both abroad and nationally.
Brian House Children’s Hospice
Just like the famous Manchester Christmas Markets Hodgson has its own version during the festive season! The students work to create stalls, deliver services and games to help raise money for Brian House Hospice. Each form needed to work together to make their fundraising enterprise as successful as possible.
Students managed to raise a fantastic £1104.03 for Brian House.
A new venture for raising money for Brian House encouraged our Year 7 students to ‘Get Fit and Elfie’. With the support of the PE department all students took part in the Brian House Elf Run where students could be sponsored to run, skip, dance, hop or walk along a 2 mile course. Students embraced the spirit of the event by wearing Elf hats along with their Christmas Jumpers and uniforms.
The Year 7 students managed to raise an overwhelming £1002.11.
