The Hodgson Chess Championship.
10/12/2021

This week has seen the return of the Hodgson Chess Championship.  Below is a brief report from Mr Moyle about the progress so far.  Needless to say we believe there is no other sporting competition that compares to the prestige of the HCC, and that its champion is held in high regard.

There is a trophy that is currently held by Milian (FROM BEFORE LOCKDOWN 1!). He is currently one match away from making the semi-finals in his bracket whilst keeping one eye on his nemesis Tommy who is in the same position:

We've had a very busy week with the chess tournament, and we are currently at the business end of the year 8 and 10 bracket so I thought I'd update where we are in terms of results.

Theo has been really impressive this week taking apart the other year 8's but he is just about to run into stiff competition in Jake who has been battling through some very close games against good players. The winner of that match will go through to the semi-final next week to play against one of the winners from the years 7-9-11 bracket.
Ryan and Max have both looked sharp this week and I couldn't pick between them who will move on to face Jayden for the other semi final spot in this bracket.
All of the competitors this week have been amazing sportsmen and should be proud of their effort and conduct.
