Hodgson has a vast array of opportunities beyond the classroom. There is a comprehensive extra-curricular programme, with activities taking place at lunchtimes and at the end of the academy day.
All students are encouraged to participate in at least one activity. The academy is proud of its strong sporting tradition, with our teams competing in local leagues.
Extra-curricular activities are run in many sports, including hockey, football, netball, rugby, basketball, badminton, cricket, and athletics.
Performing arts is another area in which the academy is extremely successful, and activities are offered in drama, dance and the visual arts. We have an annual whole school production for those interested in musical theatre.
There are extensive opportunities in music, with the Academy Band at the forefront of this. There are lots of other clubs run at the academy, including those for students interested in science, languages and computing.
Hodgson runs a very popular Duke of Edinburgh scheme, with expeditions. There are also several trips run throughout every academic year, with recent ones including visits to New York, Austria and France.
Please see below for details of current activities. Please note that these are correct at the time of publication. Please do check with the school as necessary to confirm specific dates / times.
