There is a well-established private lettings service, which sees the academy’s sports facilities hired by local teams, groups and individuals. Various other rooms are available for hire, also at very competitive rates.
Contact Martin Pickles for further details. Young musicians, from across the Fylde, are tutored by Lancashire Music Service at the academy on Wednesday evening (term time only). To find out more visit: http://www.lancashiremusicserviceinteractive.co.uk/site/
Elderly residents at a Poulton sheltered housing schemes are benefiting from free ICT training, thanks to Hodgson. Basic PC and Internet skills are being taught to residents of Burlington House on Tuesday afternoons.
Student volunteers help Community ICT Technician Mr Noel to deliver these weekly training sessions. The academy has also donated an Internet-ready computer, which is a permanent fixture in the residents’ lounge at Burlington House, on Queensway.
Hodgson hosts an annual Community Forum. This meeting is held to report and share information on the academy’s wider community work, which is ongoing, with partner primary and secondary schools, colleges, businesses and organisations. It enables the group to evaluate Hodgson’s latest community partnership projects and activities together and look towards how they continue to develop for the future.
The whole emphasis of the meeting is aimed at ensuring that Hodgson is continually providing the best community projects possible, tailored to our partners’ specific requirements. The Community Forum is always open to new members.
