Hodgson Academy Options 2022
In Year 9, Year 10 and Year 11, pupils study a range of subjects whilst also working towards GCSE or vocational qualifications. As you will now be aware, our Key Stage 4 Curriculum is made up of both Core and Option Subjects. In other words, student timetables will include the study of subjects that all students follow towards a qualification, subjects that students choose to study, in pursuit of a qualification and subjects that all students study as part of our broader education (without a qualification).

As was addressed in our Options letter to parents/carers, we are hosting an Options Information Evening, which takes place on Thursday 17th March.

Of course, this booklet and the presentation evening are only part of a larger programme of activities that are designed to help with curriculum choices. The whole team at Hodgson Academy are engaged in a positive, open process with students and parents/carers and will endeavour for students to have as much information as possible for the upcoming educational step.
Our programme includes:
• Careers information, advice and guidance as well as a dedicated PSHE lesson to the options process
• A virtual options assembly and corresponding sessions in form time
• Year 8 Experience Lessons inside and outside the school day
• Information and guidance from subject teachers and form tutors

Options from students will need to be submitted by Monday 18th April 2022. We will be requesting this information via a link we will share to emails after presentation evening.
