Year 6 Transition

Welcome to Hodgson

As a school we work very closely with all of our local feeder primary schools to ensure we offer the best possible transition from primary to secondary school.
Throughout the school year we offer Maths, English, and Science lessons for primary children to come into our setting to enjoy!

During the summer term when your child has a confirmed place with us, they will be invited to several key events. One is our treasure hunt evening where they will navigate their way around the building with older students completing a series of tasks. Another is our intake evening for both parents and students to find out key information before they start and another is our intake day when they will attend for a whole day, meeting their form tutor and completing a series of lessons which gives them a taste of what's to come. We also have separate events for children coming from a school without any other children or if they have special educational needs to give extra transitional support.

Year 7 marks the transition from primary to secondary school and with it comes a whole series of new challenges, expectations, and opportunities. My role is to support your child to ensure they make a smooth and successful transition from primary to secondary school. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions.
